GENERAL SUMMARY:

Summary:
The EVS Associate, Isolation Cleaning performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas of the hospital. Additionally, the cleaning of isolation rooms is a priority to assist in the reduction of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs). This is a strategic process regarding staffing allocation to accomplish terminal cleaning of Isolated Patients by dedicated staff to mitigate the possibility of cross contamination.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Maintains established departmental policies & procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infections control standards.
2. Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls of bathrooms.
3. Cleans and disinfects high touch areas: telephones, call buttons, bed rails, tables, door knobs, light switches.
4. Removes waste and soiled linens from work area and places in specified bags or containers.
5. Follows isolation room cleaning protocols for daily and discharge cleaning of patient rooms.
6. Performs all duties in accordance with continuous quality improvement principles and observes the principles of a High Reliability Organization.
7. Adheres to the Personal Protective Equipment Policy.
8. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities

EXPERIENCE:

Required: One year of commercial housekeeping experience Preferred: General housekeeping experience in a healthcare setting
